Extreme poverty and distance to centers of learning are sending more and more children to work in large plantations, quarries and mining sites in the jungles of Kalimantan. Farming, forest and mining families that are heavily dependent on manual labor find it more convenient to let their children work than letting them walk long distance to go to school.
These children are being deprived of their childhood at an early age and tender age of 10. This is the main problem that the City of Praise Development Agency (USA) in cooperation with the City of Praise Foundation (Indonesia) is currently addressing by bringing education to where the children are. Besides these laboring children, the two agencies are also assisting orphaned children that were bought and intercepted from the slave trade markets and from the thriving flesh spots of Indonesia. In an effort to effectively address and find more lasting solutions to these particular problems, the agencies saw the need to establish a more permanent base where these children can be sheltered and educated, and where they can grow and develop to their full potentials, and become more productive members of their communities. This makes for the establishment of a more concrete educational opportunity to increase, improve their options in life year after year.
In view of the above, how a problem this project proposal aims to increase service and outreach by building the much needed facilities to include the following:
1. Build a 20-classroom High School Building complete with science laboratories, library, conference, teachers and office rooms, with a total projected budget of approx. $120,000.-

3. Build a 7-room, 14-bed capacity School Clinic equipped with the most basic medical necessities to meet a life threatening emergency and first aid, with a total projected budget of approx. $40,000.-
THE COMBINED TOTAL BUDGET NEEDED IS $250,000.-
